Itinerary

Phuentsholing (1N) →Thimphu (1N) → Paro (2N) → Phuentsholing (1N)

Day 01: Bagdogra – Phuentsholing

Distance: 160 km | ⏱ Drive: 5 hrs

Arrive at Bagdogra Airport where you will be received by an Indian driver and transferred to Phuentsholing, the gateway town to Bhutan located at the foothills of the Himalayas.

Meet your Bhutanese guide upon arrival and check into the hotel after immigration formalities.

🛍 Evening free to explore the local markets.
Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.

Distance: 155 km | ⏱ Drive: 5 hrs

After breakfast complete immigration and drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan.

En route visit:
Kharbandi Monastery – Scenic monastery overlooking Phuentsholing valley
Chuzom Confluence – Meeting point of the Paro and Thimphu rivers

In Thimphu visit:
Buddha Dordenma – Giant Buddha statue with panoramic valley views
🕉 National Memorial Chorten – Important Buddhist monument
Tashichho Dzong – Seat of Bhutan’s government and royal throne

🛍 Evening walk at Thimphu market & craft bazaar.
Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Distance: 55 km | ⏱ Drive: 1.5 hrs

After breakfast drive to Paro.
En route visit Simtokha Dzong, Bhutan’s oldest fortress.

In Paro visit:
🏛 Ta Dzong National Museum – Rich collection of Bhutanese heritage
Rinpung Dzong – Historic fortress with beautiful murals

Overnight stay in Paro.

After breakfast hike to the legendary Paro Taktsang, perched dramatically on a cliff above Paro Valley.

This sacred site is associated with Guru Rinpoche, who is believed to have meditated here after arriving on a tigress.

Later visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples built in the 7th century by Songtsen Gampo.

Overnight stay in Paro.

Distance: 155 km | ⏱ Drive: 5 hrs
After breakfast enjoy a scenic drive back to Phuentsholing.

Evening at leisure.
Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.

After breakfast complete immigration formalities and transfer to Bagdogra Airport for your onward flight with beautiful memories of Bhutan.
