Itinerary

Kathmandu (2N) → Syabrubesi / Timure (1N) → Kerung (1N) → Saga (2N) → Manasarovar Guesthouse (1N) → Darchen (1N) → Dirapuk (1N) → Zuthulpuk (1N) → Saga (1N) → Kathmandu (1N)

Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Traditional airport welcome & transfer to hotel.
Free time for rest, currency exchange, lastminute shopping for thermals/trek gear.
Evening informal introduction with fellow yatris.
Overnight: Kathmandu Pleasant weather, moderate altitude

Day 2 Sacred Temple Visits & Yatra Briefing

Morning darshan at:

• Pashupatinath Temple – sacred Jyotirlinga connected spiritually to Kailash
• Guhyeshwari Temple – powerful Shakti Peeth
• Budhanilkantha Temple – reclining Lord Vishnu

Afternoon:
Detailed Yatra briefing
High-altitude health precautions
Duffle bag distribution & packing guidance
Document verification for Tibet permits

Overnight: Kathmandu

Day 3 Kathmandu → Syabrubesi / Timure

Drive through scenic Himalayan roads along Trishuli River.
Gradual ascent helps body adapt naturally before entering Tibet.

Overnight: Syabrubesi / Timure

Day 4 Enter Tibet → Kerung (2,700m)

Cross Rasuwagadhi border & complete immigration formalities.
Drive into Tibet — landscape changes dramatically to dry plateau terrain.

This moderate altitude stop helps smooth acclimatization.

Overnight: Kerung Hotel

Day 5 Kerung → Saga (4,640m)

Drive across high mountain passes with panoramic Himalayan views.
Cross Brahmaputra (Yarlung Tsangpo) basin region.
Notice oxygen level drop — walk slowly & hydrate frequently.

Overnight: Saga

Day 6 Acclimatization at Saga

Very important health day:

• Light walking only
• Oxygen saturation monitoring
• Rest & hydration & Avoid overexertion

This day significantly reduces risk of AMS (Altitude Mountain Sickness).

Day 7 Saga → Lake Manasarovar (4,590m)

One of the holiest lakes in the world. First darshan of Mount Kailash (weather permitting).

Activities:
Holy Snan (optional, weather dependent)
Group puja & Rudra Abhishek
Meditation by lake shore

Spiritual belief: Bath in Manasarovar purifies lifetimes of karma.

Overnight: Lakeside Guesthouse (basic facilities)

Day 8 Manasarovar → Darchen (4,575m)

Morning sunrise prayers at the lake.
Drive to Darchen – base camp for Mount Kailash Parikrama.

Afternoon:
Pony booking (optional)
Final trek preparation
Spiritual orientation for Kora

Overnight: Darchen Hot

Mount Kailash Parikrama (3 Days Kora)
Day 9 Darchen → Dirapuk (13 km | 5–6 hrs | 4,900m)

Start the 3-day Kailash Kora, trekking from Darchen to Dirapuk Monastery. The trek offers the first close-up views of Mount Kailash’s north face, a sacred and aweinspiring sight for pilgrims.
Overnight: Dirapuk Mud House (basic)

Day 10 Dirapuk → Zuthulpuk via Dolma La Pass

Most challenging day of Yatra.

Highlights:

• Cross 5,636m Dolma La Pass (highest point)
• Darshan of Gauri Kund
• Long descent to valley

⏱ 8–9 hrs trek
Overnight: Zuthulpuk Mud House

Day 11 Complete Kora → Drive to Saga

Final 12 km easy walk to Darchen.
Drive back to Saga across plateau.

Completion of Kora is believed to free one from cycle of rebirth.
Overnight: Saga Hotel

Day 12 Saga → Kathmandu

Drive to Kerung border & re-enter Nepal.
Long but scenic drive back to Kathmandu.

Overnight: Kathmandu

Day 13 Departure

Airport transfer with blessings of Lord Shiva.
Yatra concludes with spiritual fulfilment.
