Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Traditional airport welcome & transfer to hotel.
Free time for rest, currency exchange, lastminute shopping for thermals/trek gear.
Evening informal introduction with fellow yatris.
Overnight: Kathmandu Pleasant weather, moderate altitude

Morning darshan at:

• Pashupatinath Temple – sacred Jyotirlinga connected spiritually to Kailash
• Guhyeshwari Temple – powerful Shakti Peeth
• Budhanilkantha Temple – reclining Lord Vishnu

Overnight: Kathmandu

Drive through scenic Himalayan roads along Trishuli River.
Gradual ascent helps body adapt naturally before entering Tibet.

Cross Rasuwagadhi border & complete immigration formalities.
Drive into Tibet — landscape changes dramatically to dry plateau terrain.

This moderate altitude stop helps smooth acclimatization.

Overnight: Kerung Hotel

Drive across high mountain passes with panoramic Himalayan views.
Cross Brahmaputra (Yarlung Tsangpo) basin region.
Notice oxygen level drop — walk slowly & hydrate frequently.

Overnight: Saga

Very important health day:

• Light walking only
• Oxygen saturation monitoring
• Rest & hydration & Avoid overexertion

This day significantly reduces risk of AMS (Altitude Mountain Sickness).

One of the holiest lakes in the world. First darshan of Mount Kailash (weather permitting).

Spiritual orientation for Kora

Overnight: Darchen Hot

Start the 3-day Kailash Kora, trekking from Darchen to Dirapuk Monastery. The trek offers the first close-up views of Mount Kailash’s north face, a sacred and aweinspiring sight for pilgrims.
Overnight: Dirapuk Mud House (basic)

Most challenging day of Yatra.

Highlights:

• Cross 5,636m Dolma La Pass (highest point)
• Darshan of Gauri Kund
• Long descent to valley

⏱ 8–9 hrs trek
Overnight: Zuthulpuk Mud House

Final 12 km easy walk to Darchen.
Drive back to Saga across plateau.

Completion of Kora is believed to free one from cycle of rebirth.
Overnight: Saga Hotel

Drive to Kerung border & re-enter Nepal.
Long but scenic drive back to Kathmandu.

Overnight: Kathmandu

Airport transfer with blessings of Lord Shiva.
Yatra concludes with spiritual fulfilment.
